That is why we produce our skin care ourselves. This means that we handle, mix and process all raw materials. Our wellness products are therefore not just good for you, but also for the environment and our common future.
In addition, we both have a passion for making a small difference in the big world, both socially and environmentally friendly. Therefore, we spend a lot of time looking for raw materials that are extracted in sustainable, natural or social ways that all contribute to a more climate-friendly world. We want to be able to do more in this area and we are excited to see where it can take us, together with our small company.

We are mother and daughter with passion and love of the completely natural.
Leah Smith trained as a Beautician in 2012, and Tina Køster Reflexologist in 1987. Through our work,we began our interest in researching and developing products, as well as finding the best ingredients and compositions for our skin. Part of our passion also came from being able to create a brand, with a real consciousness for the natural. A brand that you as a consumer can trust and that has transparency on all the products that we produce.
We have both experienced this as problematic within the industry, and therefore want to make a difference for the consumer in a market that can be difficult to navigate.
A desire for completely natural
products are created
Smith&Køster was created when mother and daughter shared a common thought and passion for the pure and real. For a long time, we talked about the frustration of the word "all natural" and how we can help make natural a word where everyone can participate.
It all started with us producing a single product that was to be sold at a roadside stall. However, we never manage to build the stall, as we were contacted by a shop owner that had seen our product and would like to sell them. We quickly discovered that there was interest and a gap in the market for our “completely natural” wellness products.
Today, we are still a small company with big dreams for the future. Our motto is - "Skincare with awareness" We hope you will help support the natural, real and transparent in the future of the skin care.
We love spending time together creating products from scratch, but more importantly seeing how natural the product can be and what effects they can have, even with the most basic and natural ingredients - without compromising on quality.
Sea salt is not just sea salt!
Smith & Køster’s handmade foot bath salts are emollient and vegan.The product can be used for foot baths and tubs. The Sicilian salt used in our products is unrefined and has a high content of minerals.The sea salt that has been hand-collected for the last 3,000 years comes from salt basins that are WWF protected due to the many rare migratory birds and flamingos.
The salt is environmentally friendly as no machinery is allowed in the area. There is almost no industry on the west side of Sicily, therefore the water and thus also the salt is very clean. In the spring, the natural basins are filled with seawater and with the help of the warm Sicilian sun and the strong African winds, the water evaporates and leaves the salt back. It is salt in its purest form, without the addition of anti-lump remedy or other additives
By using this salt in our products, we opt out of contamination from machine use right from the start.
Your purchase supports organic farmers in Tanzania
Our coconut oil comes from Tanzania, where we support the project where organic farmers get help to raise their crops in a sustainable way, through two Danish companies. This provides added value for Tanzania, as the product is processed locally and is therefore not exported unnecessarily for processing in other industrialized countries. This creates both jobs in the area and ensures the organic farmer a larger market for his product. We therefore receive the product in its purest form for our production of handmade products.

Smith&Køster are handmade Danish wellness products that are based on natural ingredients with the best quality raw materials. Many of the ingredients are handpicked from the Danish nature, which is also reflected in our products. Our products are free of unwanted additives and chemicals. Several are vegan and organic.

Smith&Køster uses fragrance from essential oils, which come from extracts of plants, herbs and trees. All our soaps are of course 100% handmade and hand-cut, therefore there may be some variation in both colors, patterns and expressions.
